Interlibrary loans
The LIFE Library can order material from other libraries for free for students and employees at Copenhagen University. It is a precondition that the material is found and, possibly, ordered either via REX or bibliotek.dk. When the Library has received the material, you will be informed that it is ready for pickup or the material will be sent to you.
We only get material from other libraries that is within the Faculty of Life Sciences disciplines.
Instructions:
1. REX
Search for the desired material in REX.
2. Bibliotek.dk (~library.dk)
Search for the desired material in bibliotek.dk. By doing this you will get the quickest service. Is the material out on loan or unavailable, we will try to get it from another library in Denmark, Norway or Sweden.
3. Order form
If you cannot find what you are looking for in REX OR in bibliotek.dk you can use this order form.
How long does it take?
Material that is available at a library in Denmark, Scandinavia and other selected countries, and that is not already on loan, will normally arrive within one to ten days. If it is necessary to order the material via a library further away or in an untraditional manner, the material may take up to a year to arrive. Therefore, please remember to indicate how long you are interested in the material.
Returns/Recalls
Books must be returned to a CULIS library. Please return or renew the material on time as we depend on our collaboration agreements with other libraries. Furthermore, some libraries do not accept renewals if a recall notice has been issued for the material. When we receive a bill from the library that owns the non-returned material, we will forward the bill to the user including a handling fee. See the price list.
Renewal of interlibrary loans
Interlibrary loans cannot be renewed via your user status as first you must renew the material at the individual library that owns the material. Renewal is therefore only possible by contacting the staff by phone (3533 2145), by email () or at the information desk.
When we have heard from the library in question, we will renew the material in your user status with the permission of the library in question. This process can take up to one week. If the library in question has not granted permission to renew the material, you will be informed of this and asked to return the material as soon as possible.
