Become a user

Anyone over the age of 18 who has a Danish National Health Service medical card may register as a user at the LIFE Library and all other libraries within the University of Copenhagen Library and Information Service (CULIS).

Students and staff at the University of Copenhagen can become users and be granted remote access to e-resources. Remote access is not open until the day after you have signed up. If you need remote access immediately, contact the library.
 
Special information for:
 
Students with a Danish CPR number

• Register as a user using the form: A Student/University of Copenhagen
• Your CPR number is your user ID and you may choose any four-digit number for your password 
• Your National Health Service medical card is your library card. Before you start using it the library card must be activated. Contact the staff at the desk in the library.

Students without a Danish CPR number

• Register as a user using the form: A Student/University of Copenhagen (Guest student) 
• Your ten-digit University ID card number is your user ID and you may choose any four-digit number for your password 
• Your University ID card is your library card. Before you start using it the library card must be activated. Contact the staff at the desk in the library.
  

Staff and PhD students

• To have printed material delivered to your departmental address, register as a user using the form: An employee/University of Copenhagen (printed material to the institute) 
• Your user ID will be a six-digit serial number and you may choose any four-digit number for you password
• Your University staff ID card is your library card
  

Institutional users (libraries, government agencies), companies etc. and interlibrary users (e.g. students participating in e-courses) should contact the Library to be registered as users on: tel. +45 353 32145 or by email to .

 

If the institution is already registered as a user at the Royal Library or other faculty libraries at the University of Copenhagen, user IDs and passwords from those libraries may be used.
 
Private users

• Register as a user with the form: Private Borrower.
• Your CPR number is your user ID and you may choose any four-digit number for your password.  
• Your National Health Service medical card is your library card. Before you start using it the library card must be activated. Contact the staff at the desk in the library.
